About Fast Fashion Brands
Fast Fashion Brands is an independent editorial project that researches, documents, and publishes evidence-based reporting on the global fast fashion industry.
The fashion industry produces over 100 billion garments every year, accounts for up to 10% of global carbon emissions, generates 92 million tonnes of textile waste annually, and depends on supply chains where garment workers routinely earn a fraction of a living wage. The information needed to understand this industry exists, but it is scattered across academic papers, investigative journalism, NGO audits, regulatory filings, and corporate disclosures that most people will never read.
This site brings that research together, verifies it, and presents it clearly in one place.
What We Cover
The brands. Who they are, how they operate, and what their supply chains look like when you follow the trail past the marketing. We maintain the most comprehensive public list of fast fashion brands operating today, categorised by production model, speed, and scale.
The environmental cost. Carbon emissions, water consumption, textile waste, microplastic pollution, and chemical contamination. Every figure on this site is sourced from documented research.
The human cost. Poverty wages, unsafe working conditions, forced labour, gender-based exploitation, and supply chain opacity. The people who make the clothes are part of the story, and we cover their conditions with the same rigour as the environmental data.
The alternatives. Brands that operate on fundamentally different models, certified by independent third-party standards. Alongside the alternatives, we cover systemic solutions: the policies, regulations, and industry shifts that address the root causes rather than the symptoms.
Our Editorial Approach
We take a clear position: the fast fashion model, as it currently operates, causes documented harm to workers, ecosystems, and communities at a scale that the evidence does not allow us to describe neutrally.
That said, we are not an activist campaign. We do not tell readers what to buy, where to shop, or how to live. We present documented evidence and trust readers to draw their own conclusions.
Every claim on this site is sourced. Where data is contested or uncertain, we say so. Where brands dispute findings, we note the dispute alongside the evidence.
If you work in journalism, research, education, or policy and want to use or cite anything published here, everything is sourced and openly available.
